I have been painting for some years now. In the early years only when the children
and business allowed. I belonged to Sunbury and Cookham Arts Groups. I now
belong to The Society Of Floral Painters and Wokingham Art Group. Wokingham is
my local Art Group anf SFP is an international group with exhibitions in various
places. I have been on the committee of SFP running the workshops down in
hampshire and on the committe of Wokingham Arts Council.
I teach small groups of floral painters once a week.
I have had exhibitions at Phyllis Court and Centuary Galleries both in Henley and my
work exhibited in Chatsworth House Gallery in Derbyshire together with a gallery in
Epson, Gallery 62 in Wargrave and Traynors in Binfield, Berkshire. My work is now
hanging in many countries around the world.
My main love is painting flowers in watercolour and capturing the translucency, shape
and movement of the flower. I am a very keen gardener with qualifications in
horticulture and garden design. I have two large herbaceous beds where I grow my
favourite flowers to paint through the seasons. I also enjoy painting boats, people and
racehorses. I have been on painting courses in France and Dorset with the late Alan
Hume. Also with Frank Halliday, painting Norfolk skies and landscape. Flowers with
Barbara Crowe and mountains and lochs in Scotland with Don Mclane.
I also paint in pastel and acrylics.
